Writers comment: undoubtably the finest indian artifact I have ever salvaged, right off the roadside, I am real glad the grader didn't get it.  Down by Big Hatchet, southwest of the old pyramid, on the east side of the playa, right where the little hatchet mountains end to the south.  The steam adjustor was an old RR toss away, its about 120 years old, I found it while walking the edge of a road on the way back from El Paso.  I love El Paso.
